Launched in June 2018 as part of the Vivid Ideas Program at the Museum of Contemporary Arts, The Event Summit is a unique, one day conference for the event, activation and experience industry.
The brainchild of Paul Chivers (Risk Facilitator) and Sam Jackson (Premium Media). The Event Summit was born after years of involvement producing and developing world class events whereby Sam and Paul reflected on the fact that there was no formal educational offering in the event industry that bought event professionals together to focus upon how to plan, manage and execute events at a best practice level. From this, The Event Summit was developed with an aim to become Australia’s ultimate event industry conference showcasing not only the world’s and Australia best events but also those that run them.
Unique in itself is the fact that the The Event Summit takes place during the staging of major events, in this case in the heart of Vivid, Australia’s biggest event attended by 2.4 million people. This immerses delegates, sponsors and speakers into an event framework, providing them with the behind the scenes insights into the workings of a live event site.
The Event Summit curriculum and agenda is developed with an aim to showcase the topics most relevant to the industry in the current day and in the immediate future. It focuses upon storytelling and having high calibre world class event professionals share their experiences, successes and failures. Summit speakers from a variety of national and international organisations and businesses, focus on providing delegates the opportunity take away actionable outcomes that can be applied to any organisation or business.
The Summit also details how to confidently take risk to achieve creative, financial, growth and organisational goals.
